Included in this exhibition will be an outstanding painting by Cornelius Krieghoff, “Ste. Anne River, Early Winter, Quebec North Shore” ca. 1863. This painting, discovered in a private collection in England, has a sister painting in the Art Gallery of Ontario, part of the generous donation of the late Kenneth Thomson. “Ste. Anne River, Early Winter, Quebec North Shore”, is in unparalleled condition for painting of this generation, never having been re-lined or restored. It represents a rare opportunity to purchase the “perfect” Krieghoff.
